Summary/Reflection

Students have many different issues with their classes sometimes it is teaching style, sometimes it's the learning environment, and sometimes it's even teacher enthusiasm. The main thing that surprised me is that the people succeed usually don't directly solve the problem rather they just kinda tough it out. That is unfortunate because I heard a multitude of times that some just can't since they're not even able to process what's being given to them.

Changes

Not too much is different but after what I've learned I feel that students need a way to get effective help for difficult classes because I learned they can learn in vastly different ways to their peers as well as how the class itself is being taught.

Key Terms

Styles - The way that students learn/teachers teach

Curriculum - How a class is expected to be taught

Design Principles

Design Principles are the main aspects that we need the solution to take into account.

1) Students' Style - Some have a better understanding than others allowing them to attempt to fill in the gaps for those whose learning style doesn't fit the class.

2) Teachers' Style - Identifying the teaching style of the teachers that students have trouble with can help to get a better understanding of what the student is having trouble with.

3) Schedule - Consistent time to offer a solution that way it can be worked into the user’s schedule and get the help they need

Focus Group

A group of people I use to gather information and basic feedback on my solutions. I have three people in my focus groups.
